South Valley Sanctuary was started in 1997 and has had the primary goal to transform communities to live free from violence and help individuals and families strive to recognize their own and each other’s self-worth through love, empathy and acceptance. We serve men, women, and children and are the only shelter in the state of Utah who will take men into our shelter.
Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men and is poisoning the communites that we live in. Domestic violence includes physical, sexual, emotional, economic and spiritual abuse and is carried out by someone who feels they need control. South Valley Sanctuary strives to teach that this behavior is not acceptable and must be replaced with healthy relationship behaviors in order to help facilitate for a healthy enviornment for the future generations to grow up in.
