Large Nonprofits Leaderboard:

This will be ranked by most unique donors, and will include organizations with an annual budget of $1 million and higher.

Prize Amounts:

  • First Prize: $10,000
  • Second Prize: $5,000
  • Third Prize: $3,000
  • Fourth Prize: $2,000
  • Fifth Prize: $1,000

Medium Nonprofits Leaderboard:

This will be ranked by most unique donors, and will include organizations with an annual budget between $250,000 and $999,999.

Prize Amounts:

  • First Prize: $10,000
  • Second Prize: $5,000
  • Third Prize: $3,000
  • Fourth Prize: $2,000
  • Fifth Prize: $1,000

Small Nonprofits Leaderboard:

This will be ranked by most unique donors, and will include organizations with an annual budget between $100,000 and $249,999.

Prize Amounts:

  • First Prize: $10,000
  • Second Prize: $5,000
  • Third Prize: $3,000
  • Fourth Prize: $2,000
  • Fifth Prize: $1,000

Micro Nonprofits Leaderboard:

This will be ranked by most unique donors, and will include organizations with an annual budget up to $99,999.

Prize Amounts:

  • First Prize: $10,000
  • Second Prize: $5,000
  • Third Prize: $3,000
  • Fourth Prize: $2,000
  • Fifth Prize: $1,000

All nonprofits will be placed into the appropriate leaderboard based on the information provided during the registration process.

Power Hour Prizes:

  • New Organizations: 11:00 am- 12:00 pm: $250 Power Hour for the new organization with the most unique donors
  • Children & Family Organizations: 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm: $250 Power Hour for the organization in the Children & Family category with the most unique donors. Sponsored by Potbelly!
  • Schools: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: $250 Power Hour for the school with the most unique donors
  • Micro Organizations: 7:00 pm- 8:00 pm: $250 Power Hour for the Micro organization with the most unique donors
  • Returning Organizations: 10:00 pm- 11:00 pm: $250 Power Hour for the returning organization with the most unique donors

Additional Prizes:

  • $250 Smiths Gift Card for the nonprofit in the “Humanitarian Aid” category with the most unique donors

Rules

Who can donate to Love UT Give UT?

Any individual may donate. Donations through Love UT Give UT are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements.

How much of the donation will go to the nonprofit?

The nonprofit organization will receive the full donation, less a flat rate of 5.9% plus $0.30, which covers the credit card processing and Razoo.com fees to create the day of giving. The Community Foundation of Utah will assess a 1.5% fee on each donation to help offset the cost of managing and administering Love UT Give UT.

Which nonprofit organizations are able to participate?

To be eligible, your nonprofit must:

  • Primarily serve individuals living in Utah.
  • Have been determined by the IRS to be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization.
  • Have a current Utah charitable solicitation permit per Utah’s Division of Consumer Protection rules and regulations. Utah’s Charitable Solicitations Act Rules & Regulations can be found at https://consumerprotection.utah.gov/registrations/charities.html. If you have questions, please contact the Division of Consumer Protection at 801-530-6601.
  • Educational institutions, including public and private school, universities and colleges, and independent schools are eligible provided they have an affiliated foundation, association, or fund that can receive tax deductible donations.
  • Faith based service organizations, for example Catholic Community Services and Jewish Family Services are eligible.

The following are ineligible:

  • Private foundations.
  • Political organizations.
  • Places of worship.

Minimum donation

The minimum donation on loveUTgiveUT.razoo.com is $10.00. There is no maximum donation for Love UT Give UT. This is a 24 hour giving event, please make your donations during March 31, 2016 to ensure your donation counts towards prizes.

Can an organization track donations?

Organizations can track donations and have access to donor names and contact information.

What is a unique donor?

A unique donor refers to a person who makes a donation to a nonprofit or school on March 31, 2016 using the loveutgiveut.razoo.com website. Each person will be counted once in our “total donors” tally that will be updated every 30 minutes on the Love UT Give UT landing page. If one person makes donations to multiple organizations, they will be counted once per organization on the leaderboard.

What else? Any fine print?

An organization may not promise or provide goods or services to an individual or company (a donor) in exchange for making a donation.

Organizations with corporate credit cards should not use them to make donations to their own organizations during Love UT Give UT.

The Community Foundation of Utah can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. As such, the Community Foundation of Utah reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants, if in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
