Love UT Give UT is a 24 hour online event that encourages everyone to be a philanthropist and contribute to Utah’s nonprofits through a single online giving platform. It’s one extraordinary day to support the organizations that make Utah special. During Love UT Give UT on March 31, 2016, we raised more than $1.22 million in 24 hours. Love UT Give UT 2017 promises to be even bigger and will take place on March 30, 2017.
Love UT Give UT’s vision is that every person contributes to the organization of their choice. We have four simple goals:
Grow philanthropy - Create a fun and engaging way for all Utahns to learn about critical issues impacting our state and inspire them to be a philanthropist.
Grow revenue - Bring new donors to the organizations that make our state and its future strong.
Grow capacity - Build a permanent online giving platform so that all charities – no matter where they are, who they serve, or how big their budget – can access online giving, now and for years to come.
Grow community - Love UT Give UT is a day for Utahns of all backgrounds and beliefs to come together to raise as much money for nonprofit organizations and schools as possible.
On March 30, 2017, the Community Foundation of Utah will host Love UT Give UT, a 24-hour giving event encouraging charitable donations through our online giving platform, hosted by Razoo.
Razoo will provide toolkits, training sessions, outreach support, mass media and social media coverage to make it easy for all nonprofits to participate. Each participating organization will have an individualized web page to promote their cause. This web page can also be used for year-round online fundraising.
Individuals will be able to donate money to the nonprofit organizations of their choice on March 30, 2017. All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable. (Donations will not be refunded). Donors will receive a receipt for their gift. The nonprofit will receive contact information for each donor, unless the donor elects to remain anonymous.
The Razoo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization which permits donors to advise a re-granting of their donations to other IRS recognized qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations, will accept the gifts and will then re-grant the monies to the nonprofits selected by the donors.
Leaderboards will add excitement to the build-up of Love UT Give UT and to the day of the event. Stay tuned for additional details.

Organizations that have registered on Razoo can track donations in real time by logging-in to their Razoo account. Organizations will also receive an email notification for every donation. Nonprofits can download a detailed donation report at any time through their account to thank and follow-up with individual donors and tabulate donation value and number of donors. The leaderboards will appear online on March 30th. Leaderboards are determined by the number of unique donors that make donations between March 1st and March 30th.
If your page shows money raised before March 1st it is from a previous year and will not count toward the 2017 day of giving. Nonprofits are responsible for resetting their donation counter if they participated in previous years. We encourage all nonprofits to reset their counter to start on March 1, 2017 to avoid any confusion for your donors. Learn how to reset your counter here.
No. This is intended to be an online giving event. No donations received in cash or check can be counted toward leaderboard totals. A unique donor is defined as a person that has used their own credit card to make a donation and supplied their personal email address with that donation. Offline donations (cash or check) can be counted toward the overall day of giving, but the individual offline donations will not count as unique donors on the leaderboard.
Leaderboard prizes are based on the highest number of unique donors that each organization has on the day of the event. A unique donor is defined as a person that has used their own credit card to make a donation and supplied their personal email address with that donation. Creating unique donors using false email addresses, by using either auto-generated emails or using the emails of friends, family or students, goes against the spirit of the event. The Community Foundation will be auditing all of the donations of prize winners before winners are announced. Organizations that have or create false unique donors will be excluded from receiving prizes.
No, donations made through Razoo will be receipted from the Razoo Foundation. However, we do encourage you to send a thank you note to your donors letting them know how awesome they are!
